Why We Made It
Every BlackList drop is a moment - but the Liberty Marker No.002 represents something deeper. We wanted to capture the raw independence that shaped America, use exotic metals and the iconic silhouette of Lady Liberty herself.

Materials: The Trinity of Metalwork
- Timascus: A titanium-based Damascus-style alloy with brilliant color reactions under heat. This forms the base.
- Mokume-gane: Japanese forged metal layering copper and silver, bringing organic patterning and heat-reactive coloration.
- Stainless Steel: Adds durability and contrast for the facial features of Liberty.
The Design Process
The core design begins with a 1.35" diameter cut from solid Timascus. The blank is CNC machined to create inlay pockets for Mokume and stainless steel inserts. Each inlay was hand-fit, with painstaking attention to grain, contrast, and alignment with Liberty's crown and facial features.
Liberty's Face: Built in Layers
Unlike previous markers, No.002 brings an engraved illustration to life in relief. The stainless steel inlays shape Liberty's crown and expression while Mokume adds tonal contrast and depth. The heat-treated finish gives the Timascus base a prismatic sheen that shifts in the sun.
Precision Machining Meets Hand Finishing
Each unit undergoes a six-stage finish process:
- Rough CNC machining
- Precision inlay pocketing
- Custom cutting and fitting of Mokume + stainless pieces
- Polishing and tumble finish for texture variance
- Torched Timascus and mokume treatments
- Final laser engraving and polishing pass
Packaging & Provenance
Each marker is vacuum-sealed in a Kraken logo'd poly bag and housed in our signature BlackList box. A digital certificate of authenticity is provided via our verification page, backed by blockchain provenance.
