The Coffer - Copper & Brass Ball Marker

Milled from solid copper and recessed into a coffered grid - the same pattern that lines the ceilings of rooms built to outlast the men who commissioned them. At its center, a brass inlay set flush, catching light the copper won't.

There's a certain kind of man who spent his childhood learning that the things worth having are suspended just overhead, and that you get them by going up at them. He is now forty-one, plays off a nine, and has not fully unlearned it. This is for him. Look up. Take the swing. Something comes out.

Copper is a living metal. It will darken where you hold it and brighten where you don't. Six months from now this marker will look nothing like the one in these photos, and that's the entire point - it becomes a record of every round you carried it through.

It runs 1.35" square and 3/16" thick - small enough to disappear in a pocket, wide enough to sit flat and stay put. Forty grams of it. That weight is deliberate: it's what keeps the mark where you set it when the wind comes across the green, and it's what you feel when you turn it over between shots. Satin finish on the rasied parts and muted in the trench lines, nothing between the metal and your hands. It ships with its numbered Promenade.
