Unique looking tool that stands out amongst the rest. Does it's job and looks great doing it.
Every factory has a production line. A conveyor, a quota, a part number nobody remembers. Ten thousand of the same thing, boxed by people who never touch them.
This pitch tool has a production line too. It's four words long, and it's engraved on the steel.
The form is a pair of shears. Slim rings, a clean neck, one prong tapering to a point. It looks like something from a tailor's bench, almost too refined to carry onto a golf course. Then you tilt it into the light and find the label. Where the handle meets the blade there's a spec block burned into the stainless: article number, material, coordinates. The text is small enough that most people will never notice it.Ā
The label is a factory tag, and it's lying on purpose. The coordinates point to one shop in Acushnet, Massachusetts. The article number is this run and nothing else. The production line is a single man: the same hands that machined it and laser-marked the steel also boxed it. A pair of shears, made by one pair of hands.
Turn it over. The Kraken mark sits on the reverse, clean and alone.
Solid stainless steel, CNC machined. The faces are left with faint machine marks and the chamfers polished, so the edges catch light every time it comes out of your pocket. The engraving stays as sharp as the day it left the mill. Years from now the face will have softened where your fingers find it, and the micro text will still be there for anyone who looks close enough.
You don't carry a pitch tool that came off a production line. You carry the line itself.
